The UCLA Bruins are off to a 2-0 start and the hopes are high that this might be a special year. The UCLA offense is averaging 35.5 points and 514.5 points per game on a team littered with experienced talent. UCLA QB Josh Rosen has completed 64.9 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and an interception. The BYU Cougars are getting the reputation of a team that plays for the full 60 minutes as they have rallied late for wins in each of their first two games. The BYU Offense is averaging 34 points and 446 yards per game but they have delivered in crunch time. With Taysom Hill gone for the season BYU has turned to Tanner Magnum who has completed 61.5 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Cougars rushing attack is led by Adam Hine who is averaging 5.7 yards per carry with one touchdown and Devon Blackmon leads the BYU receivers with 11 catches. The BYU defense is allowing 26 points and 403 yards per game with seven sacks, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions. The BYU defense is led by Micha Wadsworth who has 16 tackles, Fred Warner with 14 tackles, and Manoa Pikula with 13 tackles. BYU is playing a brutal schedule so they won’t be intimidated by anything they see this week.
UCLA is 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games, 4-1 against the spread following a win, and 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games. BYU is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 September games, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Pac-12.
The total in this one is set at 60 and that is just way too high so my free pick is under the total. My stronger pick is who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
