The Wake Forest Demon Deacons head to Michie Stadium to oppose the Army Black Knights.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons let one get away in week two in a 30-17 defeat at Syracuse. The Demon Deacons held a 419-370 edge in yards but allowed 89 yard and 53 yard touchdown passes and threw a 41 yard pick six. Yardagewise Wake quarterback was outstanding with 373 yards and a touchdown on 30-45 but the three interceptions were game changers. KJ Brent led the Demon Deacons receivers with 96 yards on seven catches an a score while Tabari Hines and Chuck Wade combined for 159 yards on 12 receptions. The problem for Wake Forest was a complete lack of a running game that was three yards and a cloud of dust.

The Army Black Knights never got their option attack going at Connecticut and the result was a 22-17 defeat to drop their record to 0-2. The Huskies held some hefty advantages in the boxscore with 415 yards and 39 minutes of possession while Army mustered 265 yards. The Black Knights surprised with AJ Schurr hitting Joe Walker with a 71 yard scoring strike but that was the extent of the passing attack with Schurr also tossing a pick. Army did do some damage on the ground with Ahmad Bradshaw running for 129 yards on 16 totes including a 56 yard touchdown burst but he received little help otherwise and the ground game was generally defended well by the Huskies.
The Demon Deacons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and the over is 5-1 in Demon Deacons last 6 games overall while Wake Forest are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. an Independent. The over is 4-1 in Black Knights last 5 non-conference games while the Black Knights are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in September and Army are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. ACC. Laying a field goal seems like a good deal to me with Wake Forest as I think this could rise later…
