The Georgia Southern Eagles take their option to the Kibbie Dome to face the Idaho Vandals.
The Georgia Southern Eagles had their option attack rolling in week two with a 48-12 victory against the Citadel to up their record to 2-1. Both teams stayed primarily on the ground with the Eagles leading the yardage battle 484-360 while the defense recovered three fumbles and picked off a pair of passes. Kevin Ellison gave GSU some decent gains in the air with 80 yards on 10-17 with Ryan Longoria snagging five balls for 43 yards. Matt Breida paced the Georgia Southern rushing attack with 159 yards on 13 touches with 25 yard and 87 yard scoring runs while the trio of Chaz Thornton, Wesley Fields and LA Ramsby combining for 189 yards.

The Idaho Vandals didn’t have much go favorably in kicking the season off at 0-2 but they found their offense in a 41-38 victory versus visiting Wofford in week three action. The Vandals were able to do a little bit of everything on their way to 532 yards while the ground oriented Terriers mustered almost 400 yards. QB Matt Linehan was the focus of the Idaho attack with 334 yards on 25-34 with a touchdown and a pair of picks with Dezmon Epps catching ten balls for139 yards while Trent Cowan caught seven passes for 107 yards and a score. Elijah Penny led the Vandals on the ground with a 19 carry, 98 yard effort while Linehan and Aaron Duckworth combined for 100 yards with the latter making three trips to the end zone.
