The Arizona State Sun Devils look for their first win of the season over a ranked team. Mike Bercovici is completing 61.9 percent of his passes for 799 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Bercovici is seventh in the Pac-12 in completion percentage. Demario Richard and Devin Lucien have combined for 325 receiving yards and two touchdowns while D.J. Foster has 16 receptions. The Arizona State Sun Devils ground game is averaging 157.3 yards per contest, and Richard leads the way with 298 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, ASU is allowing 23 points and 350 yards per game. Jordan Simone leads the Sun Devils with 29 tackles, Christian Sam has three sacks and Lloyd Carrington has three pass deflections. Frederick Gammage, Armand Perry and Marcus Ball are doubtful.
The Trojans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The Sun Devils are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Trojans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Arizona State and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 meetings overall.
Arizona State has beaten USC in three of the last four meetings, which includes last season. Arizona State has an explosive offense and a defense that can pressure Kessler into mistakes. While USC is talented, it just seems like the Trojans continue to get a ton of love from oddmakers that may not exactly be warranted, as we saw last week.
I like ASU and the points, and I give the Sun Devils a solid chance to win outright.
