The Colorado State Rams will travel to Romney Stadium to take on the Utah State Aggies this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.
The Colorado State Rams improved to 2-2 (0-0 MW) on the season after they outlasted Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners 33-31 on the road this past Saturday. The Rams were able to outgain the Roadrunners by a 438-432 margin and committed no turnovers in the victory. Offensively, the Rams have averaged 35.5 ppg and have been led by QB Nick Stevens who has completed 59.6 % of his passes on the season for 877 yards, 9 TD’s and 4 Int. The Rams have one of the best WR’s in all of college football in Rashard Higgins who has 312 yards and 3 TD’s on 20 receptions while not being 100% so far this season. The Colorado State rushing attack is led by Jasen Oden Jr. (74 carries, 327 yards, 2 TD) and Dalyn Dawkins (44 carries, 247 yards, 2 TD). Defensively, Colorado State is holding their opponents to 23.5 ppg. Colorado State has done a nice job defending against the pass this season as they are holding opposing QB’s to an average of 175.5 passing yards per game. The Rams have a minus-6 turnover margin this season and are led by DB Trent Matthews (20 tacks) on defense.

The Utah State Aggies dropped to 1-2 (0-0 MW) on the season after the Washington Huskies used a big third quarter to defeat the aggies 31-17. The Aggies also suffered a blow as they found out that senior quarterback Chuckie Keeton will be out the next 4-6 weeks due to an MCL injury. Even with Keeton, the Aggies have had trouble putting points on the board this season as they are averaging just 14.3 ppg. Kent Myers will get the start at QB for the Aggies and Utah State will be able to show the same success he did as a freshman in 2014 when he completed 66.4 % of his passes for 866 yards, 5 TD’s and 3 Int in five starts. Myers will be looking for WR Devonte Robinson who currently leads the Aggies with 10 receptions and 152 yards. Utah State’s rushing attack is led by LaJuan Hunt who has 157 yards on 50 carries. Defensively, the Aggies have been solid as they are holding their opponents to 21.3 ppg. The Utah State’s rushing defensive has been outstanding as they are holding their opponents to just 2.94 yards/rush. The Aggies have a minus-3 turnover margin and are led by LB Nick Vigil (34 tackles) on the defense end.
The Rams are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS loss and 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Aggies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games following a S.U. loss.
Colorado State has been competitive in every game this season and could easily be 4-0 on the season after suffering close losses to Colorado and Minnesota this season. Utah State played Utah and Washington tough but just haven’t been able to find many answers on the offensive end this season. Losing Chuckie Keeton will be a tough loss and although Utah State is a tough place to play, I think Colorado State will be able go into Logan Utah and come out with a win. I’m taking Colorado State to win this one outright.
