The Massachusetts Minutemen will travel to Doyt Perry Stadium to take on the Bowling Green Falcons this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.

The Massachusetts Minutemen (1-3, 0-0 MAC-East) defeated the Florida International Golden Panthers 24-14 to pick up their first win of the season. The Minutemen used a strong defensive effort in the victory as they outgained the Golden Panthers by 495-188 margin. Leading the way for UMass was QB Blake Frohnapfel who completed 32 of 42 passes for 363 yards and 3 TD. On the season, UMass has averaged 22.0 ppg on 445 yards per game. Leading the way for the Minutemen has been QB Blake Frohnapfel who has completed 59.1% of his passes for 1214 yards, 7 TD, and 3 Int. UMass has one of the better receivers in the country in Tajae Sharpe who on the season has 45 receptions for 536 yards and a TD. The minutemen don’t have much of a rushing attack as they average just 118 rushing yards per game and are led by Marquis Young (21 carries, 188 yards, TD). Defensively, UMass is allowing opponents to score 37.3 ppg on 471 yards per game. The Minutemen will look to create more turnovers as they’ve only forced four turnovers on the season. Leading the way for the UMass defense has been LB Jovan Santos-Knox (33 tackles, 2 sacks) and DB Joe Colton (32 tackles).

Bowling Green vs. Massachusetts - 10/10/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Bowling Green Falcons improved to 3-2 (1-0 MAC East) on the season after they defeated the Buffalo Bulls 28-22 on the road this past Saturday. Bowling Green outgained Buffalo by a 536-500 margin and didn’t commit any turnovers in the victory. Leading the way in the victory was WR Roger Lewis who had 201 yards and a TD on 10 receptions. On the season, Bowling Green is averaging an impressive 36.4 ppg on 418 yards per game. Leading the way for the Falcons offense is QB Matt Johnson who has completed 66.5% of his passes for 2084 yards, 14 TD’s and 2 Int. WR Roger Lewis is having a huge season as the Sophomore WR currently has 760 yards and 6 TD’s on 40 receptions. Leading the rushing attack has been Travis Greene (66 carries, 351 yards, 3 TD) and Fred Coppet (49 carries, 299 yards). Defensively, Bowling Green has struggled a bit as they are allowing their opponents to average 36.0 ppg. Bowling Green hasn’t forced many turnovers this season but as Matt Johnson and the offense has done a good job protecting the ball, the Falcons currently have a plus 2 turnover margin. Leading the way for the defense has been LB Austin Valdez (57 tackles) and DL Taylor Royster (22 tackles, 3 sacks).

The Minutemen are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in October and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 conference games. The Falcons are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss and 11-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

There should be plenty of points scored in this contest as both teams have strong passing offenses and questionable passing defenses. This should be an exciting game to watch as two of the best WR in the MAC in The Falcon’s Roger Lewis and the Minutemen’s Tajae Sharpe will be going up against each other. Bowling Green is a strong team but I think UMass is a bit underrated in this one as this is a team that should have beat Temple and hung around with Norte Dame in the first half of their contest. I think Bowling Green gets the victory in this one but this is too many points to pass up for UMass. Take UMass and the points.
