The Ole Miss Rebels and the New Mexico State Aggies face off on Saturday in college football action.
The Ole Miss Rebels were climbing the ranking and appeared to be in control of their own destiny but they played sloppy and were blown out at Florida for their first loss of the season. The Ole Miss offense is averaging 45.8 points and 500.4 yards per game but they have turned the ball over 10 times. Mississippi QB Chad Kelly has completed 62.6 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for three touchdowns. Jaylen Walton leads the Rebels ground attack with 292 yards and three touchdowns and Laquon Treadwell is the top receiver with 27 catches and a touchdown. The Ole Miss defense is allowing 23 points and 357.2 yards per game with seven interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and five sacks. Denzel Nkemdiche leads Ole Miss with 34 tackles, Trae Elston has 29 tackles and three interceptions, and Demarquis Gates and Mike Hilton each have 22 tackles. Ole Miss will need to put last week’s debacle behind them and if they win out they will still own the tiebreakers in he SEC West.

The New Mexico State Aggies are 0-4 this season after getting blown out in their opener at Florida they have lost three close games. The NMSU offense is averaging 30.25 points and 421.5 yards per game turning the ball over six times. New Mexico State QB Tyler Rogers has completed 53 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and three interceptions and he has run for a score. Larry Rose III is the Aggies top rusher with 579 yards, an 8.2 yard per carry average, and six touchdowns while Tyrain Taylor leads with 17 catches and three touchdowns and Teldrick Morgan has 15 catches and two touchdowns. The New Mexico State defense is allowing 45.7 points and 544 yards per game with three interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and two sacks. Derek Ibekwe and Jaden Wright lead NMSU with 35 tackles each and Terrill Hanks has 30 tackles. New Mexico State has allowed 14 sacks and facing a tough Ole Miss defense on the road this could be a trouble spot.
Ole Miss is 6-2 against the spread against the Sun Belt, 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 home games, and 1-4 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. New Mexico State is 6-15 against the spread in their last 21 non-conference games, 5-17 against the spread in their last 22 road games, and 0-6 against the spread against the SEC.
This is a massive point spread but we need to remember that despite as bad as Ole Miss looked last week, they have been putting up huge numbers and they are likely to get back to that here and cover this spread.
