The South Carolina Gamecocks and the LSU Tigers face off on Saturday in Baton Rouge in a SEC college football battle.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are off to a 2-3 start tot the season but they are 0-3 in SEC games. The South Carolina offense is averaging 20 points and 353.4 yards per game and they have turned the ball over six times. The Gamecocks appear to have settled on Lorenzo Nunez at QB and he has completed 60.8 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and three interceptions and he has rushed for 299 yards and a touchdown. Shon Carson and David Williams have been carrying the load in the backfield for South Carolina with Brandon Wilds missing the last two games and Pharoh Cooper leads in catches with 26 and two touchdowns but he isn’t getting much room to work. The South Carolina defense is allowing 25.8 points and 388.8 yards per game with six interceptions, one fumble recovery, and nine sacks. Skai Moore leads he Gamecocks with 52 tackles, Isaiah Johnson has 30 tackles, and T.J. Gurley has 23 tackles. This has been a tough start to the season for South Carolina.

The LSU Tigers are off to a 4-0 start to the season going 2-0 in their first two SEC games. The LSU offense is averaging 36 points and 431.5 yards per game and they have turned the ball over just once. Tigers QB Brandon Harris has completed just 53.2 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and an interception and he has rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns. LSU running back Leonard Fournette is off to a monster start to the season gaining 864 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns while Travin Dural has 10 catches and Malachi Dupre has eight catches. The LSU defense is allowing 21.5 points and 293.5 yards per game with five interceptions, a fumble recovery, and 11 sacks. Deon Jones leads the LSU defense with 29 tackles, Kendell Beckwith has 28 tackles, and Rickey Jefferson has 23 tackles. LSU hasn’t needed to do much more than hand the ball to Fournette but it will be interesting to see what happens when they need to.
South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five SEC games, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record. LSU is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, 1-4 against the spread following a win, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The road team has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
THis game has been moved to Baton Rouge but i still feel the same way, now way this one goes anywhere near the total that has been set at 50 so the under is my free pick. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area.
