The Arkansas State Red Wolves look for a road win against the South Alabama Jaguars in week seven.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves are trying to work their way back to prominence in the Sun Belt and are hopeful a 49-35 win against visiting Idaho is a step in that direction. The Red Wolves opened up a 28-14 first half lead and held serve the rest of the way. ASU held a 521-338 yardage edge and recorded three interceptions but also threw a pick six. Quarterback James Tabary gave the Red Wolves a competent passing attack with 188 yards on 16-25 with a touchdown but the pick six diminished the effort. The ground game was the bread and butter of the Arkansas State attack with Michael Gordon totaling 221 yards on 26 carries with three trips to the end zone while Warren Hand and Johnston White combined for 126 yards and three touchdowns.

The South Alabama Jaguars were a bit of a mystery entering the season and are still more unknown then known but they were all defense in a 24-18 win at Troy as a touchdown underdog. The Jaguars limited the Trojans to 265 yards and intercepted three passes while their own offense totaled 365 yards and gave the ball away twice. Quarterback Cody Clements gave USA a viable passing attack with 205 yards on 11-21 with a pair of touchdowns and an interception with Josh Magee snagging three balls for 118 yards while Gerald Everett logged five receptions for 45 yards and two scores. Xavier Johnson paced the Jaguars on the ground with 91 yards on 20 carries with a trip to the end zone while Tyreis Thomas added 69 yards on 15 touches.
The Red Wolves are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games while going 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. The over is 5-0 in Jaguars last 5 games on fieldturf and the under is 3-0-1 in Jaguars last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the Jaguars are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The line looks spot on so either side is risky in my view…
