The Kentucky Wildcats and the Auburn Tigers face off on Thursday in Lexington in a SEC college football matchup.
The Kentucky Wildcats are 4-1 this season and are coming off of a bye week after squeaking past FCS Eastern Kentucky in their last game. The Kentucky offense is averaging 26 points and 365.5 yards per game but they have turned the ball over seven times. UK QB Patrick Towles has completed 61.5 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and six interceptions and he has rushed for three touchdowns. Stanley Wilson leads Kentucky in rushing with 343 yards and Jojo Kemp has 246 while Dorian Baker has 24 catches and three touchdowns and Garrett Johnson has 19 catches. The Kentucky defense is allowing 21.8 points 368.4 yards per game with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 10 sacks. Josh Forrest is Kentucky’s leading tackler with 49 tackles and 2.5 sacks, Cory Johnson has 37 tackles, and Khalid Henderson has 30 tackles. Despite a record that looks impressive on the surface the jury is still out on this Kentucky team.

The Auburn Tigers enter this week’s game at 3-2 but both of their losses have come in their two SEC games. The Auburn offense is averaging 24.6 points and 343.8 yards per game and they have tuned the ball over nine times. While Auburn’s QB is undecided it will likely be Sean White who has completed 68.4 percent of his passes and he is averaging 3.1 yards per carry. Reyton Barber leads the Tigers ground attack with 558 yards and six touchdowns and Ricardo Louis is the top receiver with 19 catches and a touchdown. The Auburn defense is allowing 25.4 points and 412 yards per game with four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and seven sacks. Johnathan Ford leads Auburn with 49 tackles, Kris Frost has 43 tackles, and Cassanova McKinzy has 36 tackles including three sacks. Auburn hasn’t lived up to their billing and if they are going to turn the corner it needs to happen now.
Kentucky is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record, 8-19 against the spread in their last 27 SEC games, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games. Auburn is 2-14 against the spread in their last 16 games, 1-10 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four road games.
