The Florida Gators are one of the biggest turnaround stories of the season and they are off to a 6-0 start. The Florida offense is averaging 32.2 points and 384.7 yards and they have turned the ball over five times. Gator QB Will Grier has seen the bulk of the action but he has been suspended for a year and Treon Harris, last year’s starter, has taken over the helm. Kelvin Taylor leads the UF rushing attack with 438 yards and seven touchdowns and Demarcus Robinson is the leading receiver with 34 catches. The Florida defense is allowing 14.3 points and 296.3 yards per game with seven interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 21 sacks. Antonio Morrison leads the Gators with 46 tackles, Jarrad Davis has 41 tackles, and Vernon Hargreaves has three interceptions. Harris has plenty of experience at QB but how he blends into this years UF team remains to be seen.
LSU is 2-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, 1-4 against the spread at home against a team with a winning road record, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five October games. Florida is 4-0 against the spread following a win, 6-0 against the spread in their last six road games, and 5-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread.
This game is going to be tight and even with Harris at QB I give the Gators a solid chance to win this one outright so I like them a lot with the points.
