The Idaho Vandals shoot for their second win at Veterans Memorial Stadium versus the Troy Trojans.
If you follow the Idaho Vandals you are aware the team has had their share of issues on both sides of the ball. It was the defense that broke down in week six in a 49-35 defeat at Arkansas to fall to 1-4. The Vandals defense was tagged for over 500 yards but did record a pick six. The bottom line was the Vandals offense made too many mistakes with quarterback Jake Luton going 26-42 for 166 yards and three costly interceptions with Dezmon Epps catching nine balls for 64 yards. Elijah Penny paced the Vandals on the ground with 99 yards on 13 carries and a TD while Luton scored three times on short runs.

Looking at the Troy Trojans in their first season without long time coach Larry Blakeney and I can’t decide if they are better, worse or somewhere in between. Troy were overmatched on the road at Mississippi State 45-17 but were only outgained 336-254 as the Bulldogs took their foot off the gas early. Dontreal Pruitt was the best of three Troy quarterbacks with a 12-17 performance for 90 yards with Teddy Ruben grabbing five balls for 53 yards. The Trojans received a solid effort on the ground from Brandon Burks with 86 yards on 15 touches and a TD but Pruitt struggled to gain 56 yards on 18 carries.
The over is 4-0 in Vandals last 4 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and is 4-0 in Vandals last 4 games following a S.U. loss while the Vandals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The over is 7-0 in Trojans last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and is 10-1 in Trojans last 11 vs. a team with a losing record while the Trojans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game. I think these squads are probably closer then further apart and I’m inclined to take the points and cross my fingers…
