The Vanderbilt Commodores are 3-5 this season and are coming off of a blowout loss at Houston. The Vanderbilt offense is averaging 15.8 points and 360.4 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 21 times. Vandy QB Johnny McCrary has been dreadful completing 56.6 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Ralph Webb leads the Commodores ground attack with 693 yards and four touchdowns and Trent Sherfield leads in receptions with 41. The Vanderbilt defense is allowing 18.5 points and 323.4 yards per game with three interceptions, seven fumble recoveries, and 18 sacks. Zach Cunningham leads Vandy with 59 tackles, Darreon Herring has 43 tackles, and Oren Burks has 40 tackles. Vanderbilt just had no answers at Houston last Saturday.
Florida is 6-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, and 5-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Vanderbilt is 4-1 against the spread following a loss, 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 road games, and 5-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. The road team has covered the point spread in the last seven meetings of these two.
This is a big number and Florida may be due for a letdown after stomping rival Georgia last week but I don’t see Vandy having any kind of offense here so I see Florida getting the win and cover.
