The Northern Illinois look to stay in the MAC race with a road win versus the Buffalo Bulls.
The Northern Illinois Huskies received the benefit of several questionable calls/non calls to defeat the Toledo Rockets 32-27 on the road in week ten. The Rockets held a slight 427-401 yardage edge but lost the turnover battle 3-2 with Huskies doing most of their damage in the air with quarterback Drew Hare going 7-13 for 145 yards with a touchdown and interception before leaving with an injury with reserve Ryan Graham coming in to throw for 132 yards and a score on 9-12. The Huskies receiving tandem of Kenny Golladay and TommyLee Lewis combined for 13 catches 253 yards with a score. Joel Bouagnon was the top Northern Illinois runner with 87 yards on 26 carries and a score but the ground game wasn’t great.

The Buffalo Bulls have started to play well just in the nick of time with three consecutive victories following an 18-17 victory at Kent State to improve to 5-4 with three games left on the schedule. The Golden Flashes did have some success muddying the water with the Bulls holding a 306-261 edge in yards. The strength of UB is putting the ball in the air and quarterback Joe Licata did have success in a short passing attack with 190 yards with a pair of touchdowns and a pick on 25-39. Marcus McGill, Matt Weiser and Ron Willoughby combined for 15 catches for 142 yards with the latter two scoring. Anthone Taylor and Jordan Johnson paced an average Buffalo rushing attack with 124 yards on 30 carries as the Bulls overcame the slowdown tactics of Kent State.
