The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns can stay in the Sun Belt race with a win at the South Alabama Jaguars.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns are still in contention for the Sun Belt Crown with their only conference loss coming to league leader Arkansas State. The Ragin’ Cajuns have won three of four after squeezing by Georgia State 23-21 on the road in week ten that evened their record at 4-4. The Panthers totaled almost 400 yards with ULL totaling 307 yards and benefitting from a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. Quarterback Brooks Haack completed 18-25 for 162 yards and a TD with Al Riles leading UL Lafayette with eight receptions for 103 yards and a score. Elijah McGuire and Torrey Pierce combined for 126 rushing yards on 35 carries but the offense struggled for yardage overall.

The South Alabama Jaguars rode a 45 second half explosion to rally past Idaho 52-45 to snap a two game skid. The Vandals outgained USA 494-400 and led in turnovers 3-2 but the majority of the Jaguars damage came in their wild second half. Quarterback Cody Clements didn’t stretch the field on 11-19 for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns with Gerald Everett recording three receptions for 34 yards and a score to lead the South Alabama receiving corps. Xavier Johnson paced the Jaguars on the ground with 148 yards on nine touches and a score. South Alabama also had a kick return and fumble return for touchdowns.
