The Akron Zips welcome conference rival the Buffalo Bulls to town in week 12 action.
At 5-5 the Buffalo Bulls control their own fate and I don’t think many experts thought this team would be in the running for a Bowl. The Bulls saw their three game winning streak end in a 41-30 loss to visiting Northern Illinois where the ‘D’ couldn’t get stops and the offense make too many mistakes. NIU led 524-432 in yards and led 28-3 at the half before holding off a second half UB rally. Jordan Johnson was the only Buffalo runner of note with 66 yards and a TD on six carries but the team lives and dies on the passing of Joe Licata. The Bulls star threw for 354 yards and two touchdowns but three interceptions on 31-47 with Ron Willoughby snagging six balls for 101 yards.

The Akron Zips are still searching for that elusive postseason berth and have it well within their grasp with back to back victories after a 37-28 win at Miami (Ohio) that evened their record at 5-5. The Zips led 414-384 in yards but almost squandered a 27-7 halftime lead despite forcing four turnovers. Quarterback Thomas Woodson had an uneven day under center on 13-28 for 221 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions with Jerome Lane catching four balls for 83 yards and a score. The Zips ran the ball well enough with Conor Hundley totaling 92 yards and three touchdowns with Woodson adding another 70 yards.
The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss and the over is 5-1 in Bulls last 6 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game while going 4-1 in Bulls last 5 conference games. The under is 4-0 in Zips last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and the Zips are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game while the under is 7-1 in Zips last 8 home games. The Bulls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings and the underdog is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings. I see this as fairly even so I’ll take the points…
