The Appalachian State Mountaineers stay in the Sun Belt race with a win versus the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns were dark horses in the Sun Belt but back to back defeats have left the team looking at the offseason instead. A37-34 loss to visiting New Mexico State was the final straw as the balance Aggies offense rolled up over 500 yards with ULL totaling 475 yards with most coming in the air. Quarterback Brooks Haack threw for 283 yards with a pair of touchdowns and a pick on 24-37 with Jamal Robinson hauling in 12 balls for 183 yards and a score. Elijah McGuire gave the Ragin’ Cajuns plenty of punch on the ground with 159 yards and a pair of TD’s on 18 carries.

Appalachian State Mountaineers vs. Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns - 11/28/15 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

After losing to Arkansas State and falling to second in the Sun Belt the Appalachian State Mountaineers took some frustration out on Idaho in a 47-20 win heading in to their bye week. A 26-7 second half run broke open a competitive contest as ASU amassed a 511-299 advantage in yards. Quarterback Taylor Lamb didn’t throw much but gave the Mountaineers 90 yards and three touchdowns on 9-15 with seven players recording catches. Appalachian State dominated the rushing game with Jalen Moore rambling for 244 yards on 27 touches while Terrence Upshaw and Lamb combined for 87 yards on 19 carries.

The Ragin' Cajuns are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going  0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Mountaineers are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and the over is 5-1 in Mountaineers last 6 games in November while the  Mountaineers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. I think the spread is too high for my taste but the Mountaineers have to win or wave the Sun Belt title bye…
