The Army Black Knight collide with the Navy Midshipmen in their annual battle.
The Navy Midshipmen had won five straight before ending their first season in the CUSA with a 52-31 defeat at Houston which denied them a conference crown and a DD win total. The Midshipmen never got their run game going and the Cougars did their damage on a 555-459 yardage advantage. Quarterback Keenan Reynolds ran for 84 yards and a score on 19 carries which was the extent of the rushing attack. Reynolds did give the Middies a career day through the air with 312 yards and a touchdown and interception on 13-16. Receiver Jamir Tillman Tillman also had a career day with five receptions for 162 yards and a TD as Navy was surprisingly effective throwing the ball.

The Army Black Knights were hoping Jeff Monken could bring his success at Georgia Southern to West Point but this year was a nightmare at 2-9. This team was inconsistent on both sides of the ball and a 31-21 defeat to visiting Rutgers two weeks ago was the rule rather then the exception. Army won the yardage battle 401-359 but were hurt with a pair of turnovers. Quarterback Chris Carter did have a strong game as he gave Army 140 passing yards with a touchdown and pick on 4-6 while rushing for 111 yards and a score on 20 touches. Edgar Poe paced the Black Knights with 95 yards on a pair of receptions and a touchdown while Aaron Kemper and Tyler Campbell combined for 99 rushing yards on 17 carries.
The over is 4-0 in Midshipmen last 4 games overall and the under is 5-0 in Midshipmen last 5 neutral site games while the over is 4-0 in Midshipmen last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game. The Black Knights are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and are 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while going 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The under is 9-0 in the last 9 meetings. Navy has been outstanding and Army has been disappointing by any standard but I find myself drawn to the points in this heated rivalry…
