The Mississippi State Bulldogs hope to earn their fourth bowl victory under head coach Dan Mullen. Dak Prescott is completing 66.9 percent of his passes for 3,413 yards, 25 touchdowns and four interceptions. Prescott has seven touchdown passes in his last two games. Fred Ross and De'Runnya Wilson have combined for 1,755 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while Fred Brown has 25 receptions. The Mississippi State Bulldogs ground game is averaging 140.3 yards per contest, and Prescott leads the way with 541 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively, Miss State is allowing 22.8 points and 388.4 yards per game. Richie Brown leads the Bulldogs with 101 tackles, Will Redmond has two interceptions and A.J. Jefferson has five sacks.
North Carolina State has been able to hang around with good teams this season but doesn't really have a quality win on its resume. Hanging around and winning are two different things. Mississippi State will be one of the tougher teams the Wolfpack have faced all season. Even with NC State having a home field advantage, the Bulldogs are just too physical and too explosive on the offensive end.
I like Miss State by a touchdown.
