The unbeaten Clemson Tigers take the field with the Alabama Crimson Tide for the National Championship.
The Alabama Crimson Tide dismantled the Michigan State Spartans 38-0 in the semifinals for their 11th straight victory which was impressive but also made me wonder how did they ever lose a game. The Crimson Tide dominated all phases of the game with a 440-239 yardage edge and a 57 yard punt return for a TD by Cyrus Jones. Derrick Henry paced an ordinary Bama rushing attack with 75 yards on 20 carries with a pair of scoring runs while Kenyan Drake ran for four times for 60 yards. Quarterback Jake Coker gave the Crimson Tide a deadly efficient passing game with 286 yards and a pair of scores on 25-30 with Calvin Ridley catching six and 50 yard TD strikes with eight receptions for 138 yards overall.

The Clemson Tigers improved to 14-0 with a decisive 37-17 win versus the Oklahoma Sooners who appeared unstoppable until the Tigers proved they were more then an offensive team. The Sooners did all their damage in the first half with a 17-16 lead before Clemson went off on a 21-0 second half. In the end the Tigers owned a 530-378 advantage in real estate. Quarterback Deshaun Watson gave Clemson 187 yards with a TD and interception on 16-31 while rushing 24 times for 145 yards and a score. Wayne Gallman gave the Tigers another solid option on the ground with 150 yards on 26 touches with a pair of scores. Artavis Scott, Hunter Renfrow and Charone Peake were the Tigers passing attack with a combined 13 catches for 176 yards.
The Crimson Tide are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. ACC and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on grass while going 7-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 bowl games and the under is 4-0 in Tigers last 4 Monday games while the Tigers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games. Right now I’ll go with Alabama but this could change so check back on game day…
