Texas A&M Aggies 2016 Preview
The Texas A&M Aggies needs to fill a few voids and hope experience translates in to victories in 2016.
Overview: On paper Kevin Sumlin has the experience in place to field a competitive squad but the offense has to be more productive on a consistent basis and take some of the load off the defensive side of the ball.

Offense: Former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight takes over under center for the Aggies and even though he wasn’t a superstar for the Sooners he does bring some stability to the position. Texas A&M has everyone back in the receiving corps with Christian Kirk (80-1009), Josh Reynolds (51-907) and Ricky Seals-Jones (45-560) and Speedy Noil leading the way. A&M loses top runner Tra Carson and his 1,165 yards but Oklahoma transfer Keith Ford and James White look capable of filling his shoes. The Aggies do have concerns along the offensive line with three starters gone while an injury or two and freshman might be stepping in.
Defense: The Aggies defensive line is loaded with the top five returning with ends Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall combining for 34 TFL while tackles Daylon Mack and Zaycoven Henderson totaled 16 TFL for an awesome pass rush but opponents preferred to run because they could. Texas A&M is also loaded at linebacker and could easily have some better numbers if not for injuries but Shann Washington and Richard More were the best of the unit with 7.5 TFL each. A&M possessed a solid secondary in 2015 and have plenty of safeties back led by leading tackler Armani Watts with 104.5 tackles including six TFL with Donovan Wilson recording 8.5 TFL and eight passes defensed including five interceptions.
Special Teams: The Aggie have a couple of new legs in punter Braden Mann and placekicker Daniel LaCamera while Speedy Noil and Christian Kirk are back to man the return game.
Outlook: If the Aggies start the season well I believe the postseason is a foregone conclusion. The talent and experience are in place but the schedule isn’t a walk in the park.
