The Florida International Golden Panthers welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to FIU Stadium.
Indiana was outscored 37-36 so losing quarterback Nate Sudfeld and his nearly 3.600 passing yards will be missed so can Richard Lagow come close to matching that production? The Hoosiers have the receivers back with Simmie Cobbs Jr., Ricky Jones and Mitchell Paige bring nearly 2,300 yards from 2015 to the table but all that production looks good on paper and means nothing if Lagow can’t get them the ball. With Indiana losing 1.200+ yard runner Jordan Howard, Devine Redding (226-1012) becomes the focus of the rushing attack with Camion Patrick getting some of the carries behind an offensive line that features five players with starting experience.

Quarterback Alex McGough gave Florida International 2,700+ passing yards and was able to use his legs as well but his goal has to be stretching the field as the air game didn’t pose a downfield threat and defenses knew that. Thomas Owens and Julian Williams obviously have to get downfield for the Golden Panthers with tight end Jonnu Smith certain to see plenty of throws coming his way. Alex Gardner gives Florida International a potential 1,000 yard rushing threat while Anthony Jones will get his share of touches to give the backfield a few options on the ground. FIU does have eight players back along the offensive so the ground game should benefit.
The over is 3-0-1 in Hoosiers last 4 games in September and the over is 5-0-1 in Hoosiers last 6 non-conference games while Indiana are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 versus the CUSA. The Golden Panthers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and the over is 9-1-1 in Golden Panthers last 11 home games while the Golden Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games. Most will say this is a mismatch but I like the home dog…
