The Tulane Green Wave visit BB&T Field to open 2016 with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Willie Fritz left run first Georgia Southern after two solid seasons and we know how much the Eagles ran. The Green Wave do have some runners with Dontrell Hilliard (115-64) and Sherman Badie (73-310) as the top options with the extra bonus of 50 receptions between them while Josh Rounds and Lazedrick Thompson have potential. Tulane does have questions at quarterback with Tanner Lee transferring which left Darius Bradwell and Glen Cuiellette competing for the job in the spring although Devin Powell was the far superior passer. The Green Wave need pass catchers with WR Trey Scott snagging 18 balls a year ago while Terren Encalade returns from injury with 20 receptions in 2014 while the O-Line lost three starters.:

If Wake Forest is going to improve then we know they need to score more then 17 points. The Demon Deacons have a strong throwing quarterback in John Wolford and a strong running quarterback in Kendall Hinton and Clawson must decide which direction the offense is going. Tyler Bell paced the ground game with 446 yards but he averaged less then 3 ½ yards with Matt Colburn (66-239) averaging just over 3 ½ yards. The Wake passing attack seems to be in better shape with Cortez Lewis and tight end Cam Serigne combining for over 1,100 yards with Tabari Hines and Chuck Wade giving the team four options. Four starters return on the O-Line for WF while six have starting experience.
The Green Wave are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 versus ACC and the over is 5-1 in the Green Wave last 6 versus ACC while Tulane are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in September. The under is 3-1-1 in Demon Deacons last 5 non-conference games and Wake Forest are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games. While the under is 12-5-1 in Demon Deacons last 18 home games. This is not very appealing at all…
