The Boise State Broncos visit Cajun Field to face the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in week one.
Many believe the Boise State Broncos have the type of team that is capable of cracking the top ten at the very least. The Broncos are indeed loaded at the skill positions beginning with quarterback Brett Rypien who threw for 3,350 yards in 2015 and has many of the same weapons back that helped him succeed a year ago. Thomas Sperbeck gives the Boise receiving corps an explosive element while AJ Richardson and Chaz Anderson form the nucleus of a potent passing game. The Broncos are also set at running back behind Jeremy McNichols who should threaten 1,400 rushing yards while also being able to catch the ball. Boise State has four players along the O-Line so the offense has talent everywhere.

The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns saw 2015 starting quarterback Brooks Haack transfer which moved Jordan Davis to the top of the depth chart. The Ragin’ Cajuns will certainly miss Jamal Robinson which means Gabe Fuseller, Al Riles and Devin Scott will need to step up their production if Jordan Davis can get them the ball. If the UL Lafayette passing attack takes time to gel then one of the best runners around in Elijah McGuire will be leaned on even more with Jalen Nixon also getting a heavier workload while McGuire is also a quality receiving threat out of the backfield. We’ll have to see if a ULL O-Line that that gets five players back with 32 career starts can hold their own.
The over is 4-0 in Broncos last 4 games on turf and the Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on turf while the over is 4-1 in Broncos last 5 games overall. The Ragin' Cajuns are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and the over is 9-2 in Ragin' Cajuns last 11 games in September while the Ragin' Cajuns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. If the Broncos get some stops on defense, the offense should score….
