The South Dakota State Jackrabbits and TCU Horned Frogs open the season Saturday night at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Fox Sports.

Zach Lujan returns at quarterback after throwing for 1,861 yards and 14 touchdowns. Jake Wieneke and Dallas Goedert return at wide receiver after combining for more than 1,900 yards and 14 touchdowns while Brady Mengarelli had 23 receptions. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits ground game averaged 140 yards per contest last season and Mengarelli returns after racking up 742 yards and six touchdowns. The TCU Horned Frogs look for another big run after winning 23 games the last two seasons. Kenny Hill takes over at quarterback after transferring from Texas A&M. KaVontae Turpin and Desmon White return at wide receiver after combining for more than 900 yards and eight touchdowns while Jaelan Austin had 10 receptions. The TCU Horned Frogs ground game averaged 215 yards per contest last season and Kyle Hicks returns after racking up 262 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, TCU allowed 27.2 points and 398 yards per game. Travin Howard returns after 105 tackles, Josh Carraway had nine sacks and Denzel Johnson had one interception.
Hill has a chance to prove himself again after an inconsistent career with the Aggies, and the Horned Frogs defense should remain pretty solid. However, South Dakota State can put points on the board quickly and often. The Jackrabbits won a road game against Kansas last year and scored 24 or more points in nine of their 12 games. Don't sleep on this team.
There's value with SDSU and the points, so that's where I'm going.
