Jordan Hare Stadium and the Auburn Tigers host the Arkansas State Red Wolves in week two action.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves came out of week on a bit shell shocked after Toledo came to town and left with a 31-10 victory. The Rockets took a 21-0 lead in to the half and never looked back behind a monster 556 yard effort while ASU was held to 266 yards. With the Rockets tossing the ball all over the field, the Red Wolves needed a big effort on the ground to slow things down and eat some clock but Warren Wand’s 12 carry, 77 yard was the rushing attack. Red Wolves quarterback Chad Voytik couldn’t keep up through the air with 124 yards on 11-24 with Blake Mack recording two catches for 87 yards.

The Auburn Tigers gave visiting Clemson all they could handle in a 19-13 defeat that was in doubt until the visitors batted down a pass in the endzone on the final play of the game. Clemson held a 399-262 edge in yards but were held in check somewhat with Deshaun Watson kept from dominating the game which was a huge worry. On the flip side, Auburn quarterback Sean White was held to 1-21 for 140 yards an interception while Jeremy Johnson went 4-6 for 38 yards and a pick with Marcus Davis the receiver of choice with five receptions for 56 yards. Kerryon Johnson was the only Auburn runner of note with 23 carries for 94 yards including a nine yard scoring burst but the bottom line is this team almost won despite offensive struggles thanks to the ‘D’.
The over is 5-0 in Red Wolves last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and is 5-0 in Red Wolves last 5 road games while the under is 4-0 in Red Wolves last 4 versus the SEC. The under is 8-1-1 in Tigers last 10 home games and is 7-1-1 in Tigers last 9 games following a straight up loss while going 7-1-1 in Tigers last 9 games on grass. I don’t know if either team is going anywhere this year so I’ll take the points…
