The Central Michigan Chippewas look for a huge upset when they go on the road to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a week two bout.
The Central Michigan Chippewas did exactly as expected in a 49-3 season opening victory versus visiting Presbyterian as a 38 point favorite. The Chippewas defense held the Blue Hose to 126 yards and forced three turnovers including Amari Coleman’s 27 yard pick six. Offensively, CMU logged 492 yards with the ability to run or throw whenever they wanted. Chips quarterback Cooper Rush connected on 16-26 for 237 yards and a touchdown although a pair of interceptions put a damper on a good day in the air as he spread the ball out to seven receivers. Devon Spalding paced Central Michigan on the ground with 135 yards on 15 totes and a score while Jonathan Ward added 79 yards and a TD with Jahray Hayes chipped in with 43 yards and three touchdowns.

When I saw the Oklahoma State Cowboys were opening the season with Southeastern Louisiana I assumed a rout and was not surprised the 49 point favorite destroyed the Lions 61-7. The Cowboys held the Lions to 203 yards and recovered four fumbles with two returned for touchdowns. OSU finished with 392 yards but surprisingly averaged around four yards per carry on the ground. Not that it mattered as Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph hit on 18-26 for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns before Taylor Cornelius came in and went 6-8 for 54 yards while 13 players recorded receptions with Jhajuan Seales grabbing three balls for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
The under is 4-0 in Chippewas last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and the Chippewas are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games in September while going 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The over is 5-0 in Cowboys last 5 games following a ATS win and is 5-0 in Cowboys last 5 games following a straight up win while going 4-0 in Cowboys last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. My numbers say over here…
