The Florida Atlantic Owls head to Hard Rock Stadium to take the field with instate rival the Miami Hurricanes.
The Florida Atlantic Owls had their hands full with FCS squad Southern Illinois before coming away with a 38-30 victory on opening day. The Salukis actually held a 530-457 edge in yards as they approached nearly 400 passing yards. Owls quarterback Jeff Driskel was solid in the air with 287 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 23-31 with Tavaris Harrison hauling in an 85 yard touchdown strike. The Florida Atlantic rushing attack was productive with the ball in the hands of Greg Howell with his 128 yards with two trips to the endzone. This game was supposed to be competitive so it’s difficult to nail down Florida Atlantic.

The Miami Hurricanes completely dominated Florida A&M 70-3 as a 52 point favorite and my only question is how did they give up three points. The Hurricanes put up 42 points in the third before calling off the wolves in a game they could have scored 100. The Rattlers were held to a mere 197 yards and threw a pair of interceptions. The Canes rolled up 523 yards and generally stayed on the ground with 373 yards. Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya connected on 12-18 for 135 yards and four touchdowns while hooking up with nine receivers. The Hurricanes were prolific on the ground with Mark Walton, Gus Edwards and Joseph Yearby combining for 327 yards and five scores on 29 carries.
The under is 6-1 in Owls last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and is 5-1 in Owls last 6 games following a straight up win while going 5-1 in Owls last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Hurricanes are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win while the under is 5-1 in Hurricanes last 6 versus the CUSA. This is a huge number but I think the Canes will FAU down…
