The Georgia State Panthers travel to Falcon Stadium to face the option of the Air Force Falcons.
The Georgia State Falcons have to be disappointed in their season opening 31-21 loss to visiting Ball State where the offense scored 14 points. The Cardinals totaled 455 yards with 325 yards coming on the ground while the Panthers were held to 272 yards with a TD coming on a pick six. The ground game is not a GSU specialty and Aaron Winchester’s 59 yards on eight carries and a touchdown was the rushing attack. Quarterback Conner Manning completed 21-32 for 163 yards with a score and an interception but Georgia State needed some downfield production. Penny Hart was tops among the receiving corps with seven catches for 76 yards including a 14 yard touchdown but the offense struggled overall.

The Air Force Falcons opened 2016 with a leisurely 37-21 victory versus visiting Abilene Christian as a 43 point favorite in a game that was over by the half when the wolves were called off. The Wildcats totaled 360 yards which was no match for the Falcons 602 yards despite their two lost fumbles. AFA quarterback Nate Romine completed 5-10 for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a surprisingly effective passing attack that saw Ryan Reffitt and Ronald Cleveland each haul in 62 yard scoring strikes. Of course, the Air Force rushing attack was the bread and butter with Jacobi Owens leading the way with 119 yards on 12 totes followed DJ Johnson and Shayne Davern with a combined 120 yards on 31 touches.
The under is 5-0 in Panthers last 5 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game and is 4-0 in Panthers last 4 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game while going 4-0 in Panthers last 4 games following a straight up loss. The over is 6-1 in Falcons last 7 games following a straight up win and is 5-1 in Falcons last 6 games overall while the Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. I like the Air Force option to do some late damage...
