The Line: Miami Hurricanes -23 -- Over/Under: 58 See the Latest Odds

We’ve got an intrastate Week 2 college football game coming Saturday, September 10, as the Florida Atlantic Owls travel to Hard Rock Stadium to visit the Miami Hurricanes.

In Week 1, Florida Atlantic managed a close 38-30 victory over Southern Illinois. The Owls’ Jason Driskel was great in that one, going 23-of-31 for 287 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gregory Howell would help control the game on the ground and emerged the star here, as he turned his 16 carries into 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Howell’s long run came on a 48-yard TD scamper. Another big play came on Tavaris Harrison’s lone catch, which ended up as an 85-yard score. Also helping out through the air was Henry Bussey, who caught a team-high six balls for 57 yards.

As for the Hurricanes, they absolutely decimated Florida A&M 70-3 in Week 1. Miami QB Brad Kaaya was electric in the victory, throwing for four touchdowns on his 21st birthday. The Hurricanes were also stellar on the ground as well, as three backs each topped 100 yards in the game (Joe Yearby, Mark Walton and Gus Edwards). It’s the first time that’s happened at Miami since 1987. Yearby would bag two touchdowns, and Walton and Edwards each had one. Seven other Hurricanes players managed to get into the end zone in this ridiculous blowout. Miami scored a whopping 42 points in the third quarter alone, and would get TDs on 10 of their first 12 possessions.

Florida Atlantic is 7-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 20-6 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Owls are also 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games in September, and 16-7 in their last 23 non-conference games.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are 4-1 in their last five games in September, and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against CUSA. The Hurricanes are also 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game, and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up win.

There’s no question the Hurricanes will win this game, and handily. The only real concern becomes by how much. Judging by the offensive output in Week 1, I can easily see Miami repeating the performance here. I’ll take the ‘Canes.
