The Alcorn State Braves look for another victory after beating Alabama State last week. Noah Johnson is completing 45.4 percent of his passes for 62 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Johnson also has to step up at QB for the Braves to really take off. Jaborian McKenzie and Charles Hughes have combined for 92 receiving yards on six catches while De'Lance Turner has three receptions. The Alcorn State Braves ground game is averaging 213 yards per contest, and Marquis Warford leads the way with 87 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Alcorn State is allowing 18 points and 283 yards per game. Michael Hurns leads the Braves with 12 tackles, Trae Ferrell has one sack and Daniel Franklin has one pass deflection.
Both of these teams have such a quick turnaround in this contest, which could result in some sluggish and sloppy play early on. However, the Braves are the better team here and absolutely slaughtered Arkansas–Pine Bluff last season by a score of 64-14. The Golden Lions haven't shown much in their first two games either.
Have to side with the Braves in this spot by at least a couple of touchdowns.
