The Eastern Michigan Eagles will look to get back in the win column at the Charlotte 49ers.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles opened up 2016 with a rout of MVSU but they quickly learned the SEC was a different animal in getting steamrolled 61-21 at Missouri that was never competitive. The Tigers dominated total yardage 647-428 but a poor rushing attack and no ability to control Missouri through the air was costly. Ian Eriksen was competent on the ground with 90 yards on 23 carries and a score but more was needed to keep the Tigers offense off the field. Eagles quarterback Todd Porter had a decent game throwing the ball with 287 yards on 23-45 and a touchdown but a pair of interceptions including a pick six put a damper on his effort. John Niupalau and Sergio Bailey combined for ten catches for 115 yards but the EMU defense couldn’t give the offense a helping hand.
