The Ohio State Buckeyes will have their hands full in week three when they visit the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Ohio State Buckeyes overcame a bit of a slow start before dominating visiting Tulsa 48-3. The Buckeyes owned total yardage 417-188 with the defense forcing six turnovers while recording a pair of pick six’s. OSU quarterback JT Barrett didn’t have a huge workload on a 14-22 performance for 149 yards with Curtis Samuel leading the receivers with five catches for 62 yards. The Buckeyes generally preferred to grind things out on the ground with Mike Weber totaling 92 yards on 17 carries with a one yard scoring run while Samuel made himself known on the ground as well as the air with 78 yards on eight carries as OSU eventually became a dominant in the trenches offensively while smothering the Golden Hurricane attack.

The Oklahoma Sooners might have disappointed their fans in a loss to Houston in their opener but they certainly scheduled the right opponent to rebound against. The Sooners evened their record at 1-1 with a 59-17 dismantling of Louisiana-Monroe as a 46 point favorite. OU led 42-0 at the half behind 640 yards and balance while most of the Warhawks 350 yards came late after the game was decided. The Sooners did most of their damage through the air with Baker Mayfield throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns with Austin Kendall tossing for 108 yards and a pair of TD’s. Nick Basquine led 12 player in receiving with three catches for 80 yards and a score while Joe Mixon paced Oklahoma on the ground with 117 yards on 14 totes followed by Abdul Adams and Samaje Perine with 91 yards and 58 yards respectively.
The under is 4-0 in Buckeyes last 4 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game and the Buckeyes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 6-0 in Buckeyes last 6 games on grass. The Sooners are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass. Tough to go against the Buckeyes even if this was played on the moon but I’m probably just watching…
