The Line: SMU Mustangs -16 -- Over/Under: 62.5 See the Latest Odds

The Liberty Flames and SMU Mustangs square off Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium on ESPN3.

The Liberty Flames could use an impressive road victory in order to get a game above a .500 record. Stephon Masha is completing 50 percent of his passes for 251 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Masha has to take better care of the football in this contest. B.J. Farrow and Zac Parker have combined for 85 receiving yards and one touchdown while Kendall Couamin has four receptions. The Liberty Flames ground game is averaging 204.5 yards per contest, and Todd Macon leads the way with 162 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Liberty is allowing 21.5 points and 378.5 yards per game. Juwan Wells leads the Flames with 16 tackles, JaRon Greene has 0.5 sacks and Solomon McGinty has one interception.

SMU vs. Liberty - 9/17/16 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The SMU Mustangs hope to get a game above .500 when they play their first home game. Ben Hicks is completing 41.5 percent of his passes for 374 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Hicks enters this game with 53 career pass attempts under his belt. Courtland Sutton and James Proche have combined for 431 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Mitchell Kaufman has three receptions. The SMU Mustangs ground game is averaging 224 yards per contest, and Ke'Mon Freeman leads the way with 120 yards on 24 carries. Defensively, SMU is allowing 30.5 points and 465 yards per game. Darrion Millines leads the Mustangs with 16 tackles, Justin Lawler has 3.5 sacks and Horace Richardson has two interceptions.

Liberty was beat up by an average Virginia Tech team opening week and has had issues with turnovers in the first two games. SMU was able to hold its own in back-to-back road games and that includes racking up more than 400 yards against a ranked Baylor squad. The Mustangs should be able to get the job done here and will be up for this contest considering its the first home game of the season.

Give me SMU in a blowout.
