The Line: South Alabama Jaguars -15 -- Over/Under: 55 See the Latest Odds

The Nicholls State Colonels and South Alabama Jaguars square off Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The Nicholls State Colonels hope to get a big statement win that would put them a game above a .500 record. Chase Fourcade is completing 56.1 percent of his passes for 388 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Fourcade has to be more effective through the air for the Colonels to pull off the upset. C.J. Bates and Jarrell Rogers have combined for 182 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Damion Jeanpiere has five receptions. The Nicholls State Colonels ground game is averaging 167 yards per contest, and C.J. Okpalobi leads the way with 170 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Nicholls State is allowing 27 points and 315 yards per game. B.T. Sanders leads the Colonels with 11 tackles, Sully Laiche has three sacks and Jeff Hall has two interceptions.

South Alabama vs. Nicholls State - 9/24/16 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The South Alabama Jaguars look for their first home victory that would give them a .500 record. Dallas Davis is completing 62.9 percent of his passes for 828 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Davis has five touchdown passes on 128 career pass attempts. Gerald Everett and Josh Magee have combined for 418 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Kevin Kutchera has nine receptions. The South Alabama Jaguars ground game is averaging 80.3 yards per contest, and Tyreis Thomas leads the way with 128 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, South Alabama is allowing 24 points and 445 yards per game. Roman Buchanan leads the Jaguars with 31 tackles, Randy Allen has two sacks and Neiko Robinson has one interception.

The Nicholls State Colonels outplayed the Georgia Bulldogs in week one and lost by just two points. Yes, that performance came out of nowhere considering the Colonels have been a struggling FCS program for quite some time, but it should give them the confidence heading into this matchup. South Alabama is not an FBS powerhouse by any means and is coming off two losses to a couple of subpar clubs. Given what the Colonels showed us opening week, there's no reason why they can't hang in this game.

Give me the points.
