he Kansas Jayhawks have upset on their mind when they visit the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The Kansas Jayhawks have not had much success with their football program over the years and are hoping to change that. KU didn’t have success in a 43-7 defeat at Memphis that dropped them to 1-2 with neither side of the ball able to produce. The Tigers outgained the visitors 394-314 while the Jayhawks suffered through six turnovers. Kansas was able to run at times with Khalil Herbert leading the way with 74 yards on six carries and a trip to the endzone while Ke’aun Kinner added another 48 yards. The Jayhawks quarterback duo of Montell Cozart and Ryan Willis combined to go 22-35 for 167 yards with Cozart throwing a pair of interceptions while ten players recording receptions.

One thing we know about the Texas Tech Red Raiders is they have had no trouble moving the chains and lighting up the scoreboard which is exactly what opponents do as well. The Red Raiders outscored Louisiana Tech 59-45 as an eleven point home favorite behind a 666-572 yardage advantage along with a whopping 35 first downs. Demarcus Felton was the only TT runner of consequence with 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 carries. Red Raiders quarterback Patrick Maholmes II was prolific with 470 yards and five touchdowns on 26-36 with Jonathan Giles grabbing six balls for 186 yards and a trio of scoring strikes.
The Jayhawks are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games on fieldturf and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a bye week while going 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss. The over is 4-0 in Red Raiders last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and the Red Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the over is 4-0 in Red Raiders last 4 games following a ATS win. The Jayhawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings. I don’t trust the Red Raiders to stop a leak but I do think they will score so perhaps the team total over when released…
