The Massachusetts Minutemen look to put on a show against the visiting Tulane Green Wave.
Through four games the Tulane Green Wave haven’t looked bad at all despite a 2-2 record and some questionable offense. The Green Wave outlasted visiting Louisiana-Lafayette 41-39 in four overtimes thanks to a missed two point conversion This wasn’t an offensive battle with UL Lafayette winning the battle of yards 377-311 although four turnovers evened things up. Tulane ran and ran with 49 attempts for 130 yards which meant- they went nowhere. The Green Wave were barely more successful in the air with quarterback Glen Cuiellette hitting 10-23 for 165 yards and four touchdowns and an interception with Terren Encalade catching seven balls for 103 yar0ds and three TD’s.

The Massachusetts Minutemen have played a difficult schedule thus far which explains their 1-3 record. The Minutemen were a feisty bunch in a 47-35 defeat at Mississippi State which wasn’t bad considering the Bulldogs are an SEC squad. MSU amassed a 600-411 yardage advantage with three forced turnovers. UMass quarterback Andrew Ford connected on 24-30 for 273 yar0ds and four touchdowns and three interceptions with Adam Breneman snaring six balls for 79 yards while Jalen Williams hauling in two scoring strikes. Marquis Young paced the Minutemen rushing attack with 125 yards and a touchdown on 18 totes. The bottom line is UMass had too many mistakes for an upset.
The over is 4-0 in Green Wave last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and is 5-1 in Green Wave last 6 non-conference games while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The under is 5-0 in Minutemen last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home and is 4-0 in Minutemen last 4 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going 4-0 in Minutemen last 4 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game. I lean Green Wave but will look in to this…
