Points have not been easy to come by for the Duke Blue Devils and they barely did enough offensively to down Army 13-6 as 5.5 point home favorites in week six. The Blue Devils mustered 189 yards and allowed 214 while forcing three turnovers with Army fumbling four times. The trio of Daniel Jones, Shaun Wilson and Jela Duncan were Duke’s rushing attack with a combined 145 yards on 45 carries as the team averaged less then three yards per touch. However, the Blue Devils struggled even more through the air with Jones connecting on 7-15 for 41 yards with a 22 yard scoring strike to Aaron Young.

The Louisville Cardinals headed in to their bye week off an exciting but heartbreaking 42-36 defeat at Clemson who probably doesn’t want a rematch. The Tigers led 28-10 at the break but UL roared back only to see Clemson reach the endzone with just over thee minutes left to squeeze out the win. Both teams combined for well over 1,000 yards with the Cardinals winning the turnover battle 5-3. Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was the real deal with 295 passing yards and a touchdown and interception on a 27-44 performance. Jackson also led the Cardinals on the ground with 162 yards on 31 carries and two trips to the endzone while Cole Hikutini and James Quick combined for 14 catches for 167 yards.
The under is 5-0 in Duke last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and Duke are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 games on fieldturf while Duke are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a bye week. The over is 5-0 in Louisville last 5 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game and is 5-0 in Louisville last 5 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game while going 4-0 in Louisville last 4 games following a bye week.
I absolutely hate big chalk but I do think it’s justified with an angry Louisville coming off a bye who should put up a big number…
