The Charlotte 49ers host the Florida International Golden Panthers in week seven action.
The Florida International Golden Panthers had dropped four straight to open the season as they were dominated on both sides of the ball. However, the Golden Panthers have regrouped a bit with consecutive victories following a 35-21 decision at Texas El Paso as a 4.5 point underdog in week six. FIU racked up nearly 500 yards and had the ball for 36 minutes while limiting the Miners to 330 yards. Golden Panthers quarterback Alex McGough completed 21-31 for 241 yards and three touchdowns with an interception with favorite target Thomas Owens hauling in seven receptions for 125 yards and a pair of scores. Gardner and Anthony Jones gave Florida International a powerful one, two punch on the ground with a combined 269 yards on 41 carries.

Many had labeled the Charlotte 49ers as the worse team in college football and then they travel to Florida Atlantic and defeat the Owls 28-23 as two touchdown underdogs. The 49ers played as well as they could with a 442-386 edge yards although a pair of turnovers hurt. Charlotte quarterback Hasaan Klugh led a balanced attack with 223 passing yards and three touchdowns and a pick on 14-17 with Austin Duke recording six receptions for 111 yards including a 69 yarder while TL Ford caught a 37 yard TD. Kalif Phillips gave the Owls some punch on the ground with 132 yards on 23 touches while Klugh added 54 yards on 14 carries including a two yard touchdown.
FIU are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game and the under is 6-1 in FIU last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while FIU are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. Charlotte are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and Charlotte are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 home games while Charlotte are 1-4-2 ATS in their last 7 conference games.
Both teams scored narrow wins at Florida Atlantic so this might be a coin flip but I like what I saw from FIU against UTEP and think they have momentum but…
