Michigan State vs. Northwestern - 10/15/16 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Michigan State Spartans are desperate for a victory in hopes of snapping a three-game losing streak. The Michigan State Spartans have not lost more than three games since the 2012 season. Tyler O'Connor is completing 60.9 percent of his passes for 976 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions. O'Connor has three touchdown passes in his last three games. R.J. Shelton and Donnie Corley have combined for 499 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Monty Madaris has 15 receptions. Defensively, Michigan State is allowing 25.2 points and 355.8 yards per game. Montae Nicholson leads the Michigan State Spartans with 41 tackles, Raequan Williams has two sacks and Jon Reschke has one interception.

The Wildcats are 5-2 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Spartans are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wildcats are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Michigan State and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Michigan State is simply falling apart and hasn't shown many signs of turning things around the last few weeks. Michigan State can't get stops on the defensive end and is having a hard time of putting points on the board due to poor quarterback play. The road team has also won eight of the last nine meetings between these two clubs, so there's reason to back Northwestern and the points. However, this is one of those games where I see Michigan State simply finding a way to right the ship and getting the victory. The low line makes this an easier bet for me with the Spartans at home.

Look for Michigan State to beat Northwestern in Spartan Stadium.
