The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have the CUSA college football crown in their thoughts when they visit the Florida Atlantic Owls.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are looking to stay alive in the CUSA college football race and there really isn’t a ton of room for error. WKU amassed 624 yards and 29 first downs but took their foot off the gas in the second half. The Florida Atlantic Owls are the definition of a struggling college football team with six straight defeats following a 27-21 loss at Marshall. The Owls had their opportunity with a 21-16 lead at the break but failed to score over the final 30 minutes. Both teams finished with around 450 yards with the Owls doing the majority of their damage in opening half. FAU quarterback Jason Driskel completed 9-17 for 151 yards and an interception with favorite target Kalib Woods catching five passes for 100 yards. Florida Atlantic was exceptional rushing the ball with Devin Singletary and Greg Howell combining for 219 yards and a touchdown apiece on 33 carries.
Western Kentucky are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and Western Kentucky are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game while the over is 7-1 in Western Kentucky last 8 games in October. Florida Atlantic are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass and Florida Atlantic are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while Florida Atlantic are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 home games. The underdog is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings while the road team is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
I’m assuming Western Kentucky is a bit desperate and the Owls defense won’t have an enjoyable night…
