Coming up from Memorial Stadium in Bloomington on Saturday, we’ve got a nice Week 11 college football matchup in the Big 10 between the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Indiana Hoosiers.
Penn State enters play here with a No. 12 national ranking and a 7-2 record on the season. The Nittany Lions are fresh off a dominant 41-14 win over Iowa, their fifth in a row. In that one, Penn State QB Trace McSorley posted an 11-of-18 line for 240 yards and two touchdowns, while lead RB Saquon Barkley tore it up on the ground with 20 carries for 167 yards and a touchdown. Chris Godwin was the receiving leader on four catches for 87 yards for Penn State.

On the season so far, McSorley is 134-of-241 for 2058 yards and a 14:3 TD:INT ratio for the Nittany Lions. Barkley leads the Penn State rushers on 167 carries for 1055 yards and 11 scores, while Godwin is tops in receiving with 34 catches for 509 yards and five touchdowns.
Over on the Indiana side, they’re coming in with a 5-4 record on the year, but have won two in a row. In the Hoosiers’ latest victory—a 33-27 affair at Rutgers—QB Richard Lagow went 28-of-40 for 394 yards, three touchdowns and two picks. Devine Redding led the way in rushing with 18 carries for 73 yards and a score, while Mitchell Paige was tops in Indiana receiving with six catches for 100 yards.
So far this year, Lagow is 191-of-311 for 2574 yards and a 15:13 TD:INT mark, while Redding leads the Hoosiers rushers on 167 carries for 793 yards and three scores. Nick Westbrook is still tops in Indiana receiving on his 41 catches for 708 yards and four touchdowns.
The Nittany Lions are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win, and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The over is also 4-0 in Penn State’s last four games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in the previous game.
As for Indiana, they’re 5-0 on the over in their last five November games, and 4-0 ATS in their last four games after posting more than 280 yards passing in the previous game. Indiana is also 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.
Penn State is on quite a roll in this five-game win streak, posting at least 24 points in every outing. As for Indiana, they’re scoring well with 75 points in their last two games, but won those two by jus six points each. I don’t think Lagow is going to do much here, so that leaves Redding to carry the load. That probably won’t lead to enough points for a cover, so I’ll take Penn State to cruise in this one.
