The Georgia Bulldogs and the UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns face off on Saturday in week 12 college football action.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 6-4 this season and are coming off of their biggest win of the year knocking off Auburn 13-7. The Georgia offense is averaging 22.6 points and 378.7 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 14 times. Bulldogs QB Jacob Eason has completed 54.5 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Nick Chubb leads Georgia in rushing with 792 yars and 5 touchdowns and Sony Michel has 542 yards and 2 touchdowns while Isaiah McKenzie has 36 catches and 6 touchdowns. Defensively Georgia is allowing 24 points and 308.1 yards per game with 11 interceptions, 8 fumble recoveries, and 21 sacks. Roquan Smith leads the Dawgs in tackles with 62, Natrez Patrick has 55 tackles, and Malkolm Parrish has 42 tackles. Georgia is bowl eligible but it has been a disappointing season overall.
The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns are 4-5 this season and they have won 2 of their last 3 games. The UL-Lafayette offense is averaging 23.4 points and 377.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 10 times. ULL QB Anthony Jennings has completed 62.4 percent of his passes with 9 touchdowns and 7 interceptions and he has rushed for 215 yards and 4 touchdowns. Elijah McGuire has rushed for 762 yards and 6 touchdowns to lead The Ragin’ Cajuns and Al Riles is the top receiver with 44 catches and a touchdown. The ULL defense is allowing 27.1 points375.4 yards per game with 5 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries, and 21 sacks. Tre’maine Lightfoot leads UL-Lafayette in tackles with 81, Otha Peters has 71 tackles, and Joe Dillon has 6 sacks. ULL is playing their best football of the season but this is a stiff out of conference test for them.
Georgia is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 1-4 against the spread following a win, and 4-1 against the spread after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game. UL-Lafayette is 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 road games, 18-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 2-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread.
This looks like a lousy game on paper but Georgia has looked so sloppy and disorganized under Kirby Smart he likely coaches his way into a close game in a game the Dawgs have a decided edge in talent. Georgia probably squeaks out a win but I am all over the points and ULL.
