Tulane vs. Temple - 11/19/16 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Tulane Green Wave lost their 5th straight game and dropped to 3-7 (0-6 AAC) on the season after being defeated by the Houston Cougars, 30-18, this past Saturday. Tulane struggled defensively in the 1st half and couldn’t fight back after falling behind by a 28-10 margin at halftime. Tulane outgained Houston by a 341-287 margin and won the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for the Green Wave was QB Glen Cuiellette who completed 21 of 42 passes for 241 yards and 2 TD. On the season, Tulane is averaging 25.1 ppg on 353.4 total yards per game (117.0 passing, 236.4 rushing). Offensively, Tulane is led by their rushing attack that ranks 18th in the country in rushing yds/g. Leading the Green Wave rushing attack has been Dontrell Hilliard (13.0 att/g, 73.7 yds/g, 9 TD), Josh Rounds (9.9 att/g, 64.3 yds/g, 5 TD), and Lazedrick Thompson (6.0 att/g, 37.6 yds/g, 4 TD). QB Glen Cuiellette has completed 42.2% of his passes for 10 TD and 7 INT while averaging 112.6 passing yds/g. Terren Encalade (3.3 rec/g, 43.8 yds/g, 6 TD) and Darnell Mooney (2.1 rec/g, 23.4 yds/g, 2 TD) are the leading receivers for the Green Wave. Defensively, Tulane is allowing their opponents to average 28.8 ppg on 353.3 total yards per game (200.2 passing, 153.1 rushing).

The Owls are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Green Wave are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win however, just 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 conference games.

Temple has been outstanding defensively during their 4-game win streak as during this span, the Owls are holding their opponents to just 17.0 ppg.Tulane has been competitive this season even though they have yet to pick up a conference win and rank 23rd in the country in total defense. Tulane can do a nice job of controlling the clock and keeping the game the low scoring, however, Temple has the advantage on both sides of the ball and I think the Owls will be able to go on the road and cover this spread.
