The Line: Virginia Tech Hokies -18.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

Down at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field in Blacksburg on Saturday, November 26, the Virginia Cavaliers and the Virginia Tech Hokies will be meeting up in college football action.

Virginia comes into this game with a dismal 2-9 record, and has lost their last six games straight. In the Cavaliers’ most recent outing against Georgia Tech, they lost 31-17, giving up big play after big play the entire afternoon. Virginia QB Matt Johns had a forgettable day on 220 yards passing, one TD and three picks.

Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Virginia Cavaliers - 11/26/16 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

On the season so far for the Cavaliers, Kurt Benkert is tops in passing with 2430 yards, 20 TDs and 11 picks. Taquan Mizell leads Virginia on the ground with 165 carries for 827 yards and five scores, while Doni Dowling is the lead receiver with 47 catches for 600 yards and four scores.

As for Virginia Tech, they’re sitting at 8-3 on the season so far, and just finished off a road win 34-31 over Notre Dame. In that game, Virginia Tech was down 10 points heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored the Irish 13-0 in the final frame to get the win.

So far this year for the Hokies, QB Jerod Evans is sitting on 2792 yards, 24 touchdowns and five interceptions, while also leading the team in rushing with 150 carries for 675 yards and seven scores. Isaiah Ford is the top receiver for Virginia Tech on 65 catches for 881 yards and seven touchdowns.

Virginia is 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 road games, and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss. Virginia is also 1-4 ATS in their last five games on grass, and 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games.

As for Virginia Tech, they’re  7-15-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 home games versus a team with a losing road record. Virginia Tech is also 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games, and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up win.

The Hokies have looked pretty solid lately, winning four of their last five games. Virginia Tech has scored at least 20 points in every one of those games, and hit at least 34 three times in that span. Conversely, with Virginia’s season all but finished, I don’t see a whole lot of effort being put forth here. I’ll take Virginia Tech to cover and finish on a high note.
