The TCU Horned Frogs will look to build on their strong start from week 1, winning their series opener by a 63-0 rout over Jackson State. Kenny Hill led the charge under center, going 18 of 23 for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns with an interception. Shawn Robinson came in relief after that, completing 5 o 7 passes for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Robinson also racked up 43 yards on 3 carries, while Darius Anderson led the team with 67 yards on 13 carries. KaVontae Turpin’s lone carry resulted in a 39-yard touchdown, the Horned Frogs’ lone score on the ground in the win. TCU combined for 5 sacks and an interception that turned into a pick-six from Ridwan Issahaku. Arico Evans also recovered a fumble that also went the other way for a 32-yard recover and touchdown. The Arkansas Razorbacks will also look to build on a strong showing to open their season, defeating Florida A&M by a final score of 49-7 in the opening week. Austin Allen led the team with 135 yards and a touchdown that was negated by an interception while completing 14 of 19 passes. Chase Hayden led the Hogs on the ground, taking his 14 carries and turning them into 120 yards and a touchdown, while Devwah Whaley logged 60 yards and a touchdown of his own on 12 carries. David Williams racked up just 23 yards on his 7 carries but punched a pair into the end zone for two scores for the Razorbacks. Jonathan Nance led the team with 3 catches, putting up 25 yards, while the aforementioned david Williams led the team with 48 yards receiving on a pair of catches out of the backfield. Deon Stewart and Cheyenne O’Grady each registered a receiving score in the win. The Razorbacks combined for 3 sacks in addition to an 18-yard fumble recovery touchdown from Henre’ Toliver.
TCU is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games against the SEC and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 non-conference games. Arkansas is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games against the Big 12 and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 home games.
I have a feeling this could be a sleeper for one of the best games of the week. Hill has the potential to be a game-changer for TCU, but in the end, considering Arkansas’ success against the Big 12 and the fact that they’re on home soil, I’ll take the Razorbacks to eke out a narrow win and cover.
