Out at BC Alumni Stadium on Saturday, September 9, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Boston College Eagles will be meeting up in Week 2 college football action.

Wake Forest comes into this game at 1-0 after a 51-7 beatdown of Presbyterian in Week 1. Starting QB John Wolford snagged 107 passing yards, 47 rushing yards and four total touchdowns in that one, while Greg Dortch led the Wake Forest receivers on four catches for 55 yards and a pair of TDs.

The Demon Deacons are coming off a 7-6 season in 2016, going 3-5 in the ACC. That qualified them for a Military Bowl appearance, where they defeated Temple 34-26.

Over on the Boston College side, they’re sitting at 1-0 as well. QB Anthony Brown tossed for a pair of touchdowns and a pick among his 191 yards, helping lift the Eagles to a 23-20 victory over Northern Illinois. The difference-maker was a late 37-yard field goal from Colton Lichtenberg, who also had a 42-yard and a 35-yard boot during the game.

The Eagles are fresh off a 2016 in which they went 7-6 and 2-6 in the ACC. Boston College finished the year on a high note in the Quick Lane Bowl with a 36-30 victory over Maryland.

The Demon Deacons are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six conference games. Wake Forest is also 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in September.

Meanwhile, Boston College is 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 home games and 1-3-2 ATS in their last six games in September. The Eagles are also 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games and the under is 10-3 in the Eagles’ last 13 home games.

This should be a pretty interesting game, and will serve as a better barometer for each team than their respective Week 1 games did. That said, Boston College has yet to display a real identity on offense, which is what will dictate their level of success this year. Wake Forest, meanwhile, seems a little more settled overall and I like them to keep rolling here. I’ll take the Demon Deacons to cover.
