The Bowling Green Falcons will be shooting for a win when the South Dakota Coyotes come to town. The Falcons opened 2017 with a 35-10 loss at the Michigan State Spartans where the offensive side of the football couldn’t move the chains. The Falcons came up well short in yardage as they were outgained 465-212 with just nine first downs and 22 minutes of possession. The BGSU defense played well enough to stay competitive with three fumble recoveries including one that was returned for six by Cameron Jefferies. Bowling Green could not move the ball on the ground with Andrew Clair and Matt Domer combining for 43 yards on eight carries. That put the focus on Falcons quarterback James Morgan and he had trouble hooking up with the receiving corps with a 10-31 effort for 145 yards and a costly pick six. Datrin Guyton led Bowling Green with a pair of receptions for 40 yards but the passing game lacked consistency.
The over is 7-1 in South Dakota last 8 road games and the over is 7-1 in South Dakota last 8 non-conference games while the over is 7-1 in South Dakota last 8 games overall. The under is 4-0 in Falcons last 4 games on fieldturf and the under is 4-0 in Bowling Green last 4 games overall while Bowling Green are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games.
I don’t know if we are looking at an upset here but I do believe South Dakota has enough talent to make this an interesting contest. With that being the case I’ll take the points in what should be a competitive game…
