The Abilene Christian Wildcats take on the Colorado State Rams in week 2 college football action.

The Abilene Christian Wildcats will look to pull off the upset after dropping their season opener by a final score of 38-14 at the hands of New Mexico. Dallas Sealey completed 33 of his 53 pass attempts for 240 yards, a touchdown and 2 interceptions, while Luke Anthony completed both of his pass attempts for 34 yards and a touchdown. The Colorado State Rams will look to put forth a better effort after suffering their first loss of the season, a 17-3 setback at the hands of Colorado. Nick Stevens completed just over half of his 47 pass attempts, notching 24 completions with 309 yards and a pair of picks. Dalyn Dawkins led the Rams’ ground attack with 43 yards on 14 carries while Izzy Matthews and Rashaad Boddie combined for 58 yards behind Dawkins. Detrich Clark led the team with 62 yards on 5 receptions, while Olabisi Johnson racked up a team-high 6 grabs for 71 yards. Michael Gallup added 5 catches for 67 yards, and after that, no CSU receiver had more than 3 catches in the loss. It was a solid outing for the Rams defensively, combining for 5 sacks and a pair of interceptions in the losing effort.

Abilene Christian is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under has hit in 3 straight games overall. Colorado State is 3-2 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

Last week was a bit of a shock for me as I’m used to seeing Colorado State playing in all of these high-scoring shootouts. However, I’m not sure the Wildcats have the horses to keep up with the Rams on either end of the football, but can they do enough to keep this one within 40 points? That's another story. I'm not sure that Colorado State deserves to be this heavy of a favorite, so I'll take a shot with Abilene Christian in a game that's probably best to stay away from.
