The Line: LSU Tigers -42.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Chattanooga Mocs will look to pull off the upset when they take on the #12 LSU Tigers in week 2 college football action from Baton Rouge.

The Chattanooga Mocs will try to make their first win of the season a memorable one after dropping their season opener by a final score of 27-13 against Jacksonville State. Nick Tiano led the Mocs with 218 yards and a touchdown along with 2 interceptions, completing 23 of 43 pass attempts in the loss, while also leading Chattanooga’s ground attack with 68 rushing yards on 8 carries. Joseph Parker led the Mocs’ receiving corps with 56 yards and a touchdown with his 6 receptions. Richardre Bagley and Bingo Morton each added 5 catches, with Bagley adding 55 yards out of the backfield while Morton chipped in 49 yards. Defensively, the Mocs had a decent outing, highlighted by a pair of team interceptions, while allowing JSU to rack up 366 yards of total offense, culminating in a Chattanooga defeat.

The #12 LSU Tigers will look to add to their strong performance in the season opener, shutting out BYU by a final score of 27-0. Danny Etling led the Tigers at QB, completing all but 3 of his 17 pass attempts for 171 yards. Derrius Guice racked up 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on his 27 carries, while Darrel Williams added 92 yards and a score of his own with his 15 touches out of the backfield. DJ Chark led the Tigers receivers with 4 catches for 77 yards as no other LSU receiver had more than 2 catches in the win. LSU controlled the time of possession battle, holding onto the ball for nearly 42 minutes while suffocating the BYU offense, holding the Cougars to just 97 yards of total offense while forcing a pick and combining for 2.5 sacks.

Chattanooga is 2-3 ATS in their last 5 road games and 2-3 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 3-1 in their last 4 games overall. LSU is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 9-1 in their last 10 home games.

LSU looks like they could once again challenge for the SEC and the national championship, and while the Mocs have hung with the big boys in the past, I just think this LSU team will be too physical and too strong for Chattanooga to even come close. I'll take LSU in a landslide.
